Prishtina, 12 November 2020 – Minister of Economy and Environment (MEE), Blerim Kuçi, along with the Director of the Policy and Monitoring Unit of Public Enterprises, Besnik Krasniqi, hosted today in a meeting the Trepça Employees Strike Council, chaired by Raigp Istrefi, representative of Trepça Trade Union, Gani Osmani, and Acting Chief Executive Officer of “Trepça J.S.C.”, Hysen Vrajolli and several other employees of the enterprise.

The topic of discussion of this meeting was the difficult situation of Public Enterprise “Trepça” J.S.C., namely the freezing of their accounts, thus making the payment of salaries impossible.
Minister Kuçi has received the requests of Strike Council, who sought financial assistance to overcome this situation.

Showing the assistance provided to this enterprise even with the supporting measures of the Economic Recovery Package, Minister Kuçi pledged to the employees and management that a financial amount will be allocated from the economic recovery budget to the Policy and Monitoring Unit of Public Enterprises and additional assistance will be requested in the Government Meeting.
“What I can guarantee you is that we have an amount of means in the Policy and Monitoring Unit of Public Enterprises, which can be immediately executed. However, you request a higher amount and I will table this issue in the Government meeting tomorrow and request assistance to overcome this situation”, stated Minister Kuçi.
