Prishtina, 04.09.2020 – The Minister of Economy and Environment (MEE), Blerim Kuçi, visited today the Municipality of Rahovec, where he was hosted by the Mayor of this municipality, Smajl Latifi.

Minister Kuçi, together with the mayor of Latifi, have formalized the memorandum of cooperation for financing the project for the regulation of the river bed that passes from Hoça e Madhe to Krusha e Madhe in the amount of EUR 1 million 294 thousand, which will protect villages from possible floods.
During this visit, Minister Kuçi announced that they will support several projects from the budget planning for next year; the Rahovec square project, a range of projects for the regulation of river beds and a model project for a biological wastewater treatment plant.

“We have investments in Rahovec in two phases. The first phase is related to the memorandum that regulates many problems related to the regulation of river beds, and the second one is related to budget planning, which we have oriented towards a process for 2021. The biggest project is the city square which is important for the citizens in general. We will also find the opportunity to finance a pilot project that is related to the treatment of wastewater in the biological aspect”, stated Kuçi.

Minister Kuçi also visited the planned location for the Central Square of Rahovec, where the project was presented by the Director of Urbanism in the Municipality of Rahovec, Rumir Zhuniqi.

Minister Kuçi visited also the “Osa Termosistem” busniness, where he spoke about the importance of the private sector.

“We are here at the factory “Osa Termosistem”, which is a manufacturer with tradition and has a wide range of products in many specific fields. The innovations we saw here are related to the equipment needed by the food industry, which are most necessary for the Kosovo market. It is a successful, professional company that is recognized beyond Kosovo. We have come to see how it works and to see what support we can give in the context of economic recovery”, stated Minister Blerim Kuçi.

Among others, the mayor Smajl Latifi informed Minister Kuçi about other developments and projects of the city.
