Minister Kuçi participated in the Western Balkans ICT Ministerial Meeting

 

Prishtina, 01.07.2020 – The Minister of Economy and Environment (MEE), Blerim Kuçi participated today in the Western Balkans ICT Ministerial Meeting with the topic “Western Balkans fit for Digital Age”, organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and held in virtual form.

 

“The Impact of the Regional Roaming Agreement and the next steps towards the region without roaming charges until 1 July 2021”, was the first issue addressed at this meeting, where Minister Kuçi presented the achievements of the Kosovar side for the implementation of this Agreement and expressed his readiness to fulfil the next obligations towards the complete abolition of roaming charges until 1 July 2021.

 

Another issue addressed at this ministerial meeting was The Western Balkans (WB) Digital Transformation Agenda Beyond 2020.

 

In this case, Minister Kuçi presented Kosovo’s plans and priorities for the development of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, namely the Digital Agenda of Kosovo. The Minister also expressed the readiness of our country in the implementation of actions within the areas of regional economy (REA 2021-2024) and the continuation of cooperation with all parties in the region, to achieve all objectives in the most efficient way.
