Prishtina, 23.05.2019 – The third meeting of the Working Group for drafting NPEC 2021-2030 was held in the light of engagements for drafting the National Plan on Energy and Climate (NPEC) 2021-2030.

This plan is in accordance with the Recommendation of the Energy Community Ministerial Council approved in January 2018, and is based on 5 dimensions: Energy Security, Internal Energy Market, Energy Efficiency, Decarbonisation, Research, Innovation and Competition

The meeting was opened by the Chair of the Working Group for drafting the NPEC 2021-2030, Mr. Sabit Gashi, who informed those present in general with regard to the progress made so far by the Thematic Groups.

During the meeting, the expert Nicolas Brizard, who is engaged in the preparation of energy projections and requirements for 2021-2030, gave a brief presentation of his work with regard to energy projections and requirements until 2030.

Subsequently, the Chairpersons of Thematic Groups presented the work of their groups. All of the Thematic Groups have held work meetings; they have communicated, and started to draft the chapters with regard to the current situation.

It was agreed that by the next meeting of the Working Group, which is to be held in June, the Chairperson of Thematic Groups will intensify work in their groups so that in the next meeting, all of the groups have concluded the chapter regarding the current situation and start with the drafting of other chapters. The Regulation No. 2018/1999 on the Governance of the Energy Union will serve as the grounds for the preparation of drafts.
