Iowan ‘Vermeer’ company is interested to invest in Kosovo

Prishtina, 10.05.2018 – Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka, hosted today a delegation of the Vermeer Company from Iowa, USA, chaired by Markos Georgantas – General Manager, to discuss on the general conditions for investments in Kosovo and the resources available in our country.

Given the profile and the scope of this American company, Minister Lluka focused mainly on the mining and recycling sectors. He stated that Kosovo possesses a wide range of mineral resources, where foreign investors can be focused, and mentioned the areas of particular interest, which will soon be open for investment.

The Economic Development Minister informed his guests that the Government has taken a number of measures to improve the institutional and legal framework in order to improve the investment climate, as reflected in recent reports by international organizations.

Minister Lluka underlined that the recycling and processing sectors are among the most potential sectors for foreign investments and invited Vermeer to invest in Kosovo.

Otherwise, Vermeer is world leader in the production of agricultural equipment, construction, mineral extraction, organic recycling and wood waste processing.
