Minister Lluka signs historic deals with Canada for investment growth

Toronto –  06.03. 2018 – Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka, and his Canadian counterpart, James Carr, today signed an agreement to promote Canadian investment in Kosovo.

This is a very important agreement for Kosovo’s economy as it opens perspectives for investments by Canadian companies in Kosovo.

In his speech during the signing ceremony, Minister Lluka emphasized his commitment and that of the Government of Kosovo to create favorable conditions for investors in particular for Canadian companies.

“The signing of this agreement is a wonderful news for us, as Canadian companies have great opportunities to invest in Kosovo. This agreement clearly expresses our commitment to provide security for investors and, above all, allows for employment opportunities and economic growth for the country.  With this agreement, Kosovo will be a hub of Canadian investments in the region,” said Minister Lluka, after signing the agreement.

For Minister Carr, this agreement is of special importance because it will enable Canadian companies to invest in Kosovo as a new market in Europe.

 “Kosovo has wonderful geographic reach and a young labor force, and the signing of this agreement creates conditions for Canadian companies to invest in Kosovo as well as for Kosovo companies to export their products to the Canadian market”, said Carr.

This agreement was signed on the tenth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
