Deputy Minister took part in the CESEC High Level Meeting on Gas

Prishtina, 13.07.2015 – Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Gani Koci, took part in the meeting of the High Level Group of Central and South-Eastern Europe on gas network connection (CESEC), held on 10 July in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, Croatian Minister of Economy, Ivan Vrdoljak, Deputy President of the European Commission, Maroš Šefčovič, EU Commissioner for Climate and Energy, Miguel Arias, and other representatives of line ministries line from the region and beyond were all present in this meeting.

The High Level Group for Central and South-Eastern Europe discussed the possibilities for the diversification of sources in Central and Eastern Europe – Perspectives of Producers.

This was also a good opportunity to review interventions from new suppliers for the region (Exxon, OMV – Petrom, SOCAR, Cheniere and others), the potential of their sources to contribute to the diversification and security objectives of supply for the region, potential difficulties for delivering gas to the CEE/SEE markets (legal, regulatory, technical and financial framework).

Although Kosovo is not part of the gas network, opportunities are being explored to connect Kosovo through the network of a neighboring country where the new gas network will go through.
