An earthquake of 4.1 magnitude in Richter scale hits north Kosovo

Prishtina,06.02.2015- Based on data of the Seismic Network of Kosovo
Geological Service (MED) and Euro-Mediterranean Seismic Center, and the
numeric analyses of the Kosovo Seismic Division, on 05.02.2015, around
22:49 local time, our country was hit by an earthquake of 4.1 magnitude
in the Richter scale, respectively at V1/2 in Mercalli scale.

The
epicenter of this earthquake was 15 km north of Leposavic, 66km
north-west of Prishtina, respectively at the following coordinates:
43.23 (latitude) and 20.88 (longitude), at a depth of 5 km.

Due
to the considerable depth of the epicenter, the earthquake was felt by
both residents of our country and neighboring countries.
So far, Seismic Network of the Kosovo Geological Service does not possess any data on eventual damages around the epicenter.
