The French express interest on the water and energy sectors

Prishtina, 22 January 2014 – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, accompanied by the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Dardan Gashi, met today with a French delegation comprising Senator Alain Richard, French Ambassador in Kosovo Maryse Daviet, Head of the Department for Regional Cooperation in the French Embassy in Bulgaria, Jean-Marie Demange, and a number of representatives of French companies.

On the occasion, Minister Ismajli informed the French delegation on the most recent economic developments in the country, underlining developments in the spheres covered by MED and projects under implementation.

Ismajli appraised the presence of French investors in Kosovo, while emphasizing the commitment of the Kosovo Government to improve the business environment, with the aim of attracting foreign investments.

The head of MED and representatives of French companies focused on investment opportunities in the water sector, management of industrial waste, environmental protection and energy sector, based on French experiences and Kosovo needs.

For their part, French officials and investors thanked Ministers Ismajli and Gashi for their readiness to concretize cooperation in the abovementioned areas, which represents a prerequisite for further advancement of cooperation.

Part of the French delegation were representatives of Egis Company, Veolia Company and the CEO of Pristina International Airport.
