Prishtina, 21 January 2014 – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, met today with the Mayor of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti, to discuss on water supply and other issues under the competency of MED and Prishtina Municipality.

Heads of MED and Prishtina agreed on the establishment of a working group that will address the situation created with the lack of water supply, part of which will be representatives of MED, Prishtina Municipality, RWSC Prishtina and other stakeholders involved in the matter.

Minister Ismajli informed Mayor Ahmeti on measures undertaken to date in relation to water supply, and provided additional information on possible scenarios for overcoming this situation.

During the meeting held in the facilities of Prishtina Municipality, emphasis was put on the need for cooperation between both institutions regarding water, electricity, heating supply and similar matters.

The heads of MED and Prishtina expressed their readiness to encourage cooperation between central and local institutions, with the aim of improving service provision for the citizens.
