USA supports economic development of Kosovo

Prishtina, 06.08.2013 – Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, met today with senior economic officials of the US Embassy in Prishtina, Mr. Todd Christensen and Mr. Cavan Fabris, to discuss on current developments in economy and further enhancement of economic cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States.

On this occasion Minister Ismajli informed officials of the US Embassy on the country’s economic processes and ongoing projects, and highly appreciated the US support to Kosovo in all areas.

From their part, representatives of the Economic Office of the US Embassy expressed their readiness to cooperate with MED in areas that would encourage the country’s economic development, such as energy, renewable energy, production with possibilities for export, etc.

The reiterated the readiness of the US Government for an open dialogue with the aim of helping Kosovo move forward large processes with an impact in economic development.

In these lines, Minister Ismajli highlighted the importance of organizing a donor conference gathering foreign investors with the aim of targeting relevant areas with a high potential for making investments which would have a direct impact in a sustainable economic development.
