The inter-ministerial meeting on Hydro Power Plant Zhur is held

Prishtina, 9 June 2009 – A regular meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee for Hydro Power Plant Zhur was held today at the premises of Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Justina Shiroka Pula.

Participating at the meeting were Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF) Ahmet Shala, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP) Mahir Jagcilar, Minister of Trade and Industry (MTI) Lutfi Zharku, Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration (MLGA) Shpend Tërdevaj, LPTAP Project Office Manager Lorik Haxhiu and World Bank (WB) Representative Ranjit Ranjak.

At the meeting further developments of Hydro Power Plant Zhur Project were discussed, followed by a positive evaluation of the public presentation of feasibility study results in the previous week. Also, at the meeting, Terms of Reference for the engagement of Transaction Advisors for this project and other activities and timeframes were reviewed. 

Otherwise, in the upcoming period, it is expected that this area will be declared a zone of special interest, whereas the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee is expected to make a field trip to the area.
