Prishtina, 03.06.2025 – The Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, and the Ambassador of Canada to Kosovo, Jessica Blitt, today opened the workshop entitled “Development and Implementation of Public Policies”, attended by Kosovar and Canadian mining experts.

The workshop is being held within the cooperation with the Government of Canada and includes the inter-institutional group that will prepare the revision of the Mining Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo.

Deputy Minister Mjeku thanked the Canadian partners for their support through expertise, which is helping to develop the mining sector in Kosovo and to strengthen economic relations with countries that share our democratic values.

Ambassador Blitt underlined the importance of the workshop and expressed her confidence that cooperation between our two countries will continue in the future, particularly in the mining sector.

The workshop will last three days and will focus on experiences in drafting mining policies.

The workshop is organised within the framework of the Government of Canada’s project “Technical Assistance Partnership – Expert Deployment Mechanism”. The project supports the Republic of Kosovo in reviewing and improving the institutional framework and policies of the mining sector, with the aim of increasing investment and achieving environmentally and socially sensitive and sustainable development.
