The Steering Committee of the Project “EU Support for the Competitiveness of Kosovo’s ICT Sector” held its final meeting

Prishtina, 27.08.2025 – The final meeting of the Steering Committee for the project “EU Support for the Competitiveness of Kosovo’s ICT Sector” was held. During the meeting, the project’s final achievements and sustainability were reviewed, and the draft final activity report was submitted to the Ministry of Economy (ME), the project’s beneficiary.

In addition to being the beneficiary, the Ministry of Economy designed the project, organized the entire process, and developed the curricula, program, and training modules.

Throughout the project’s implementation, the ICT sector was strengthened through advanced training in programming, data analysis, and artificial intelligence (AI), supporting innovation, skills development, and digital transformation.

This EU-funded initiative is considered a solid foundation for Kosovo’s digital future, supporting employment, innovation, and economic development.

The objective of the project was to enhance the competitiveness of Kosovo’s digital businesses by supporting the growth of the ICT sector and the creation of new jobs, in line with global trends and reflected in the implementation of the IT strategy, through which the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has identified ICT as a priority sector for economic development.

The project focused on equipping young people with the digital skills necessary for the labor market, with the following aims:

  • Enhancing technical skills in the ICT field, based on actual labor market demands and ensuring adaptability to emerging technologies and methodologies;
  • Offering a new training package for the ICT sector in Kosovo;
  • Improving business, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills within the sector;
  • Providing continuous support to ICT businesses in Kosovo, enabling them to expand their products and services and promote them internationally.
