The Secretary of the Ministry of Economy participates in the high-level ministerial meeting of CESEC

Prishtina, 28 October 2025 – At the invitation of the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Romania, the General Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Kosovo, Leonita Shabani-Mullarama, participated in the latest high-level ministerial meeting convened under the Central and South-Eastern European Energy Connectivity (CESEC) initiative.

The meeting aimed to discuss market integration and the use of infrastructure in the energy sector, with a special focus on flexibility and better integration of energy capacities to ensure more affordable prices for consumers.

The challenges faced by Kosovo’s electricity sector were also addressed, where Secretary Shabani-Mullarama emphasized the lack of regional cooperation, which has prevented the Kosovo Transmission, System and Market Operator (KOSTT) from using cross-border lines for the allocation of commercial capacities.

The meeting highlighted the need for closer coordination between regional countries and the relevant energy institutions. It also emphasized the role of energy regulators, transmission system operators (TSOs), and power exchanges (PXs) in strengthening supply security, increasing competition, and creating conditions for stable and affordable prices for consumers.

In addition to Secretary Shabani-Mullarama and officials from the MoE, the Kosovo delegation also included representatives from the Transmission, System and Market Operator (KOSTT).
