The Government of Kosovo is investing 3.8 million euros in 13 facilities through the revolving scheme for municipalities

30.12.2024, Prishtina – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, and the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (FKEE), signed today an agreement with four municipalities, which will benefit from the implementation of energy efficiency measures in 13 public facilities.

Minister Rizvanolli said that for this project, the Government of Kosovo is investing 3.8 million euros in 13 facilities through the revolving scheme for municipalities, implemented by FKEE, while these projects will be added to the 125 facilities already renovated in 21 municipalities.

The municipalities in which there will be investments according to the agreement are: Podujeva, Lipjan, Shtime, and Vitia.

“In this scheme, the Government finances and the Fund implements the project, whereas the municipalities, over the next 13–15 years, repay to the Fund the amount of money they save from their energy bills. Thus, we provide better conditions for students and teachers, without additional cost to municipal budgets”, said Minister Rizvanolli.

In Podujeva, the schools “Ali Ajeti”, “Hamit Sejdiu”, “Shefki Kuleta”, and “Isa Boletini” will be renovated;

In Lipjan, the school “Shtjefën Gjeqovi” will be renovated;

In Shtime, the schools “Hasan Prishtina”, “Emin Duraku”, and the Vocational High School will be renovated;

In Vitia, renovations will take place at the Centre for Work, as well as the schools “28 Nëntori”, “Nijazi Rexhepi”, “Mirali Sejdiu”, and “Dëshmorët e Lubishtës”.

Meanwhile, during the past month, agreements were also signed for 4 other buildings in the municipality of Istog and Suhareka.
