The Emergency Technical Committee held its second meeting in one day

Prishtina, 17.08.2022 – Considering the energy situation in Kosovo, the Emergency Technical Committee (ETC), established by Minister Artane Rizvanolli, comprising of representatives of all relevant energy institutions, held its second meeting.

The second meeting held today, immediately after the establishment, took place at 21:00 hrs, to recommend new measures in facilitating the electricity supply in Kosovo.

In order to overcome the situation with the electricity supply that will last until 25 August 2022, the Emergency Technical Committee recommended that KEK provide the necessary electricity to avoid power cuts for consumers and deviations in the power network.

The Ministry of Economy encourages all citizens to save energy, especially these days until the second unit of “Kosovo B” Power Plant resumes its operation following the preparatory overhaul for the winter season.

The Committee aims to draw up recommendations to minimize the consequences of the electricity crisis.

The Technical Committee aims to identify the potential impact on the emergency situation of electricity supply, operation and liquidity of the electricity market, managing the situation, as well as recommending options to minimize the negative effects both on the supply and the market during the emergency situation.

The Emergency Technical Committee has the following composition: representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (ICMM), the Kosovo Competition Authority, Kosovo Energy Corporation, Transmission, System and Market Operator (KOSTT), Kosovo Energy Distribution Company (KEDS), Universal Service Supplier (KESCO).
