Signing of agreement for the construction of a 35-million-euro wastewater treatment plant in Podujeva

Podujeva, 20.01.2025 – Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, participated in the ceremony of signing the agreement worth 35 million euros for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Podujeva.

Present at the signing ceremony were Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku; Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati; EBRD Director in Kosovo, Sergiy Maslichenko; Mayor of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi; and the CEO of the Regional Water Company “Prishtina,” Arsim Fetahu.

The investment for implementing this project amounts to 35 million euros, of which 25 million euros is a loan from the EBRD, and 10 million euros will be secured through the Western Balkans Investment Framework of the European Union.

This project is implemented in cooperation with the Government of Kosovo, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the Regional Water Company “Prishtina.”

Upon the construction of this plant, wastewater will be treated according to contemporary standards, while also contributing to reducing river pollution and protecting water resources.
