Restoration of public property and opening of the new post office in Leposaviq
Leposaviq, 28.04.2025 – In the centre of the Municipality of Leposaviq, the fourth Post of Kosovo point in this town was opened today, located in premises that have been restored to the management of this publicly-owned enterprise.
The official inauguration was attended by the Caretaker Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, the Mayor of Leposaviq, Lulzim Hetemi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Post of Kosovo, Nora Rraci, and the Chairperson of the Board of the Post of Kosovo, Gëzim Paci.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Rizvanolli sent postcards from the newly opened Post office in Leposaviq.
Prime Minister Kurti congratulated the Post, the Ministry of Economy and the Municipality of Leposaviq on their work, stating that the opening of the new office in the restored property represents a combination of legality and quality.
“The unlicensed operators that previously worked here have been closed, and now we have the Post of Kosovo where, in addition to ordinary postal consignments, financial means in euros can be received for the citizens of Leposaviq. This is good news for the inhabitants of the municipality and for the public postal service of the Republic of Kosovo”, the Prime Minister said.
He further emphasised that whereas the Post of Kosovo once operated at a loss, it now, under the new Chief Executive Officer, Nora Rraci, operates profitably and, in addition, enjoys territorial coverage across and within all municipalities of Kosovo, including areas that are more remote from towns and small urban centres.
Whereas Minister Rizvanolli stated that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue to support the Post in expanding its network and advancing the services it offers.
“The Post of Kosovo, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, is implementing its network-expansion and modernisation programme. As a result: 157 active post offices now operate across Kosovo, marking an increase of 11 %; in the four northern municipalities 13 post offices are already in service; investment has been made in new transport vehicles, IT infrastructure and new postal and financial services.
The Post of Kosovo provides modern services to citizens, including international money transfers, the delivery of state documents and support for the development of e-commerce,” Rizvanolli said.
The Mayor, Lulzim Hetemi, thanked and congratulated the Government and the Post on today’s inauguration and invited the latter to open further points in the municipality he leads.
While the Chief Executive Officer of the Post of Kosovo, Nora Rraci, spoke about the enterprise’s plans to be present wherever citizens need the services of the public operator, as well as about the results achieved through the expansion of the postal-office network.
