Mountaineers Uta Ibrahimi and Mrika Nikqi honored with postage stamps
Prishtina, March 18, 2026 – This commemorative issue of postage stamps is dedicated to Kosovo mountaineering and the women who, with courage, dedication and extraordinary achievements, have elevated the name of Kosovo in the international arena. It is carried out within the framework of the promotion of postage stamps dedicated to mountaineers Uta Ibrahimi and Mrika Nikqi.
At this ceremony, held in the presence of the two mountaineers, their extraordinary contribution to representing Kosovo in the international arena through achievements in mountaineering and climbing the highest peaks of the world was appreciated.
Minister Rizvanolli congratulated Uta Ibrahimi and Mrika Nikqi for their dedication, perseverance and successes, emphasizing the importance of promoting figures who, with work and determination, worthily represent Kosovo in the world.
Minister Jagxhiu emphasized the importance of encouraging outdoor activities and promoting inspiring role models for young people, appreciating that the success stories of the two mountaineers constitute a valuable example for the younger generations.
During the ceremony, Uta Ibrahimi and Mrika Nikqi shared their experiences from mountain expeditions, the challenges they faced and the motivation they give young people for an active life, with discipline and closeness to nature.
The postage stamps were handed over to the mountaineers by the Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Post Office, Nora Rraci, who emphasized that their inclusion into Kosovo’s philately represents an institutional appreciation for their achievements and at the same time serves to promote the country.
