Ministers Rizvanolli and Nagavci support the empowerment of girls and women in the ICT sector
Prishtina, 25.04.2024 – Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, together with Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, participated in the observance of International Girls in ICT Day. They expressed their support for empowering and encouraging the participation of girls and women in the ICT sector.
At the Girls in ICT Conference held today, Minister Rizvanolli emphasized that in the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, women and girls not only have a voice but also account for over 1/3 representation in the government, 40% in the Assembly, and 40% in the workforce in the private sector, surpassing the figures of other developed countries.
“As we continue to engage in education, employment, and entrepreneurship, influencing day by day the increase in representation of women and girls in every sector, in the Ministry of Economy we have active programs for training and empowering young people for the needs of the ICT sector, where over 41% of trainees are women and girls, and in some of the modules offered, such as Digital Marketing, the share of women and girls exceeds 60%”, emphasized Minister Rizvanolli.
She added that with this energy, they will continue to ensure a more and more equal representation in the ICT sector.
For the organization of the Conference held today, Rizvanolli thanked IPKO Foundation, RIT Kosovo, Women in Tech Kosovo, and the Dutch Embassy in Kosovo.
