Prishtina, 10.10.2022 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, spoke at the Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, organized by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo in cooperation with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Minister Rizvanolli spoke at the session “In support of recovery and promotion of sustainable growth: The economic situation in the region after COVID-19”, where she discussed on the topic “Kosovo’s approach to the link between development and security”.

In the panel, the Minister presented Kosovo’s approach to development and security, with special emphasis on the approach to the energy sector as a key national security sector.

Among others, there were also discussions on the strategic goals in the energy sector and the projects that have already been initiated, including Solar4Kosovo for central heating with solar energy in cooperation with KfW, the solar park in KEC together with EIB and KfW, the accumulative capacities from the Compact Program of MCC.

Further, the Minister made a presentation about the economic development in Kosovo as well as the opportunities that Kosovo offers as a direct foreign investments destination, the export potential, as well as the reforms that the Government is undertaking to increase competitiveness.

During the discussion, the Minister also presented the measures that the Government has taken so far to protect citizens from the impact of the energy crisis, such as subsidizing energy saving through bills, as well as subsidizing energy efficiency.
