Minister Rizvanolli participates in the inauguration of works on three social residential buildings in Skenderaj
Skenderaj, 30.07.2025 – The Caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, took part in the inauguration ceremony of the works on three multi-apartment social buildings in the Municipality of Skenderaj.
The inauguration of the works was carried out within the the project “Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures for Multi-Apartment Social Buildings”, where with an investment of approximately 693,000 Euro, the works included external insulation, replacement of windows and doors, roof thermal insulation, installation of a new heating system, installation of intercoms and fire protection detectors, achieving electricity savings ranging from 75% to 85%.
The project is implemented by the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund and is supported by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, through a grant from the European Union (90%) and municipal participation (10%).
Minister Rizvanolli emphasized that upon completion of the works on these three social buildings,
100 families will benefit, including 30 single mothers, recipients of social assistance and families of martyrs, who will now have better conditions for their children and families, along with a more dignified and safer life.
“This project is part of a broader nationwide program, where work is also underway in 12 other municipalities on the renovation of 28 social buildings, with a total value of 6 million Euro,” Minister Rizvanolli stated.
She also added that she is very pleased that, after three years since the design of this program began, initiated at the request of the Government to the European Union, to which the European Union responded positively and swiftly, results are now being seen.
In addition to Minister Rizvanolli, the ceremony was attended by the EU representative in Kosovo, Alessandro Bianciardi, the Managing Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund, Driton Hetemi and the Mayor of Skenderaj, Fadil Nura, all of whom expressed their satisfaction with the completion of the works and the creation of better living conditions for the residents of these buildings.
As part of the energy efficiency reform, the Government of Kosovo has so far supported:
• 3,000 families with home insulation,
• Over 40,000 families with energy-efficient devices and solar panels,
• 125 public buildings, mainly schools and hospitals, have been renovated to improve living and working conditions for hundreds of thousands of citizens.
These renovations significantly improve the living conditions, education and healthcare services for thousands of citizens.
