Prishtina, 22.01.2025 – Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, are participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos, where for the first time, Kosovo is among 25 countries of the world represented with its own space – House of Kosova.

Minister Rizvanolli took part in a panel on “Harnessing Clean Energy for a Sustainable Future,” where she stated that Kosovo is working to develop innovative projects by utilizing capacity from renewable energy sources.

“By 2031, we aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% and increase renewable energy by 25%”, she said.

The Minister also noted that clean energy is the backbone of the energy sector of Kosovo.

“Clean energy, while also ensuring security and independence of the energy supply, is the backbone of our energy sector, but at the same time, it is imperative that citizens remain at the center of the energy transition so that no one is left behind. This means safeguarding affordability and protecting vulnerable consumers, while ensuring access to investments and efficiency for everyone for better living conditions in houses, schools, and public buildings”, she said.

Participants in this panel also included Dr. Joël Ruet, faculty member at École Polytechnique, as well as founder and chair of The Bridge Tank; Dr. Geoffrey Ellis, head of the ‘Geologic Hydrogen Resources Potential’ project at the U.S. Geological Survey; Jukka Maksimainen, senior partner at McKinsey & Company in Helsinki; Daniel A. Oechslin, owner and chairman of the Management Board at OE-EN AG; and Grant Nicholas, global head of white hydrogen at Terra-A.
