Drenas, Obiliq, 02 April 2026 – The inauguration ceremony of works in four multi-apartment social buildings was held, namely in the Municipality of Obiliq and the Municipality of Drenas, within the project: “Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures for Social Multi-Apartment Buildings”.

The project is implemented by the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF) and is supported by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, with financial support from the European Union (90%), as well as co-funding from the respective municipalities (10%).

On this occasion, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, emphasized that this project aims to improve living conditions for residents through increasing energy efficiency and reducing energy costs for beneficiary families.

From Obiliq, she announced that investments in two social buildings in the village of Plemetin have resulted in a reduction of energy consumption by up to 73%.

“The measures implemented are comprehensive: insulation of walls, replacement of windows and doors, roof insulation, new high-efficiency LED lighting, and installation of a new heating system.  In addition, important works have also been carried out for the safety and functionality of the buildings, including repair of corridors, improvement of electrical installations, a parallel water supply system, waterproofing, and fire protection measures”, said Minister Rizvanolli.

Meanwhile, regarding investments in two social buildings in Drenas, the Minister emphasized that the investment of over EUR 380,000 has directly improved living conditions for 50 families, namely around 250 citizens.

“These families now have more comfortable housing and a noticeable reduction in energy consumption of up to 82%, which translates into lower energy costs,” she stated.

In addition to Minister Rizvanolli, these activities were also attended by the Minister of Communities and Return, Nenad Rashiq, the representative of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Alessandro Bianciardi, the Managing Director of KEEF, Njomza Hoxha, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Obiliq, Berat Gashi, as well as the Mayor of the Municipality of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci.
