Minister Rizvanolli at PDAC 2026 in Toronto: Meetings with Institutions and Mining Sector Representatives in Canada

Toronto, March 2, 2026 – The Minister of Economy, Ms. Artane Rizvanolli, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation, Ms. Mimoza Kusari-Lila, is attending PDAC 2026 in Toronto, one of the largest and most prominent global conferences on mineral exploration and the mining industry.

PDAC 2026 (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada) brings together over 27,000 attendees from more than 125 countries, featuring an extensive professional program, networking opportunities, and an industry trade show with over 1,300 exhibitors and hundreds of presenters.

On the first day of the conference, Minister Rizvanolli held working meetings with institutional partners and representatives of the Canadian industry, focusing on the exchange of expertise for the sustainable development of the mining sector, strengthening economic cooperation, and building bridges for concrete future partnerships. In this context, the Minister met with Mr. Cory Hughes, Assistant Deputy Minister for Resource Development at the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources, Mr. Claude Gendron of the Canadian Commercial Corporation; and Ms. Pamela Schwann, President of the Saskatchewan Mining Association. The Minister also met with Mr. Ahmed Hussen, Member of the Canadian Parliament and Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.

As part of the participation in PDAC, the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo also attended relevant thematic sessions of the conference, following discussions on global trends in exploration, financing, technology, and the sustainable governance of mineral resources.

During this mandate, the mining sector has been designated as one of the key developmental and economic priorities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. In line with this strategic orientation, a public investment of approximately €50 million has been planned for the sector.
