Minister Rizvanolli and the International Monetary Fund discuss about the development of 150 MW Competitive Wind Energy Projects

Prishtina, 31.10.2024 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, welcomed the Head of the IMF Mission to Kosovo, David Amaglobeli, along with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), who are visiting Kosovo as part of the Article IV annual consultations.

This mission aims to evaluate Kosovs’s economic developments and efforts toward sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

During the meeting, the IMF delegation and Minister Artane Rizvanolli discussed about the progress toward sustainable economic development. One of the main topics addressed was the advancement of competitive 150 MW wind energy projects, which are being designed by the Ministry of Economy with support from the USAID and with the IFC as the lead transaction advisor.

Minister Rizvanolli informed the delegation about the progress in designing competitive wind energy projects, which aim to promote sustainable investments in this sector with significant potential for Kosovo.

These competitive projects will be co-financed by the Government of Kosovo through funds enabled by the recent agreement with the IMF for a support program that aims to improve green infrastructure and sustainable economic development of the country.
