Licensed electricity suppliers to submit bids and to provide information and explanations to businesses

Prishtina, 23.05.2025 – The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) organized a meeting with the licensed electricity suppliers in Kosovo to discuss the challenges or obstacles they may face in participating in the market and in the bidding process for companies entering the free market.

The Caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, who took part in the meeting, stated that they have encouraged the suppliers to submit bids and to provide information and explanations to businesses regarding the various contracts.

“We encouraged the suppliers to submit bids and to provide information and explanations to businesses regarding the various contracts and the cost components in the free market. The aim is to ensure as much competition in the market as possible so that consumers are well informed and able to choose the most suitable conditions for them, at the lowest price”, the Minister said.

Meanwhile, Ymer Fejzullahu, Chairperson of the Board of ERO, emphasized the importance of transparency and the accurate informing of consumers during this transition. He underlined that the role of the Regulator will remain key in monitoring and ensuring a fair and competitive market.

The meeting was also attended by licensed suppliers from Albania and North Macedonia, reflecting the mutual recognition of licenses among the countries of the region.
