Kosovo branch of the international ABSL network established
Prishtina, 16.12.2024 – At the end of last week, the Global Digital City Kosovo event brought together industry leaders, ICT sector professionals, and entrepreneurs from Kosovo and the region to discuss the transformative potential of technology in economic and social development.
The Ministry of Economy, specifically the Deputy Minister, Getoar Mjeku, had the honor of being part of this important platform, emphasizing the commitment to developing a digital and innovative Kosovo.
In his speech, Mjeku highlighted that the Ministry of Economy is investing in infrastructure, training thousands of young people in digital skills, and building important frameworks for the sector — such as the KREN data center, the technology park in Prishtina, and now the Digital Excellence Center.
He stated that they are determined to support the ICT sector and embrace initiatives that drive technological progress, improve digital education, and create an enabling environment for innovation and growth.

With a broadband penetration of 99.8%, a developed ICT ecosystem, and a youth prepared for the challenges of the future, Kosovo is transforming into a digital hub with regional and global impact.
The Ministry of Economy will continue to support such initiatives to empower innovation, develop digital skills, and foster a competitive and sustainable economy.
The event lasted two days, while on Saturday, trainings were held for youth from Kosovo and northern Albania in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, and data analysis.
