It is recommended to have a publicly-owned enterprise for energy storage established
Prishtina, 24.01.2024 – The Inter-ministerial Committee for Publicly-Owned Enterprises approved 20 projects for funding water supply systems, for which the Ministry of Economy allocated 5,116,200 Euro as subsidies to 7 Regional Water Supply Companies.
The Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, announced that during the meeting, the Government has been recommended to establish a publicly-owned enterprise for energy storage, which will operate a battery system with a capacity of 170 MW, constructed under the Compact Program worth $236.7 million, of which $202 million are grants from the United States Millennium Challenge Corporation.
During the meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Publicly-Owned Enterprises, a support in the amount of 689,275 Euro was also approved for railway enterprises for the repair of trains and the maintenance of railway lines.
The water supply projects to be funded are:
The drinking water tank for Bardh i Madh, Grabovc and Mesbardhi;
Water supply network in Kishnica;
Rehabilitation of sewage in the villages of Shtime;
Water supply network in Hertica;
Water supply network in Orllan, Turuçica and Kalatica;
Water supply network in the mountain villages of Vushtrri: Karaça, Studime, Samadrexha, Dumnica e Ulët, Dumnica e Mesme, Dumnica e Epërme, Ropica and Maxhunaj;
Water supply network in Melenica, Maxhera, Zijaça and Vllahi e Shalës, municipality of Mitrovica;
Water supply network in Qirez, Baks, Prelloc, Kozhica and Dashec of Skenderaj;
Purchase of pumps for the villages of Zhazha, Boletin and Kelmend of Zveçan;
Tanks and pump stations for the sewage system in the villages of Poçest, Gorazhdec and Ramun of Peja;
Replacement of water filters in the drinking water factory in Klina;
Construction of the water supply network for the settlements of Krusha e Madhe, Pirana, Zojz, Medvec and Mamusha;
“Gjakova III” water supply network for the villages of Lugbunar, Osek-Hila and Skivjan;
Drinking water supply for the villages of Hoça e Madhe, Zoçishta and Opterusha and the industrial area of Rahovec;
Opening of wells and the water supply network in the village of Gërnçare in Prizren;
Expansion of supply capacities, digitalization and improvement of the quality of water supply services in the Ferizaj region;
Construction of sewage in Quarter 8, Tahir Sinani and Nekibe Kelmendi streets, Gjilan;
Rehabilitation of the water factory in Velekinca of Gjilan;
Water supply network in the village of Karaçeva;
Connections to the drinking water system for 6 villages of Kamenica: Shipashnica, Muçivërca, Rogana, Hodonoc, Novosella and Hogosht.
