Prishtina, 10.06.2025 – As part of the ongoing discussions on the liberalisation of the energy market, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, in cooperation with the Secretariat of the National Council for Economy and Investments, has held an information workshop on the open electricity market for businesses
The two-day workshop aims to foster public-private dialogue on energy-market liberalisation and responds to the need for further clarification for businesses that have already entered the open market for electricity supply.
Skender Muqolli from the Electricity Market Department at the ERO provided clarifications on market liberalisation and the legal basis underpinning this process.
Meanwhile, Arben Kllokoqi, energy-market expert at the Energy Community Secretariat, presented the mechanisms for setting the market price and spoke about the offers and contractual conditions.
On the first day of the workshop, participants discussed how the open energy market operates, how the price is formed, what a supply contract should contain, and what businesses that have entered the open market should demand from the offers they receive from suppliers.
The speakers explained in concrete terms the steps that businesses must follow in order to conclude contracts with licensed suppliers.
While tomorrow, on the second day of the workshop, KEK will give a presentation on the role of the supplier of last resort, to be followed by an open discussion on supply offers and contractual practices with Arben Kllokoqi from the Energy Community Secretariat.
