Prishtina, 15.05.2025 – At the request of the Publicly-Owned Enterprise Policy and Monitoring Unit  (POEPMU) of the Ministry of Economy (ME), the illegal activity of the parallel structures at the Water Plant in Zubin Potok, as well as at the parallel water-supply company “Ibar” in North Mitrovica, has been terminated.

Both have now come under the management of RWC “Mitrovica”, which will ensure that this system operates according to the legal and technical standards of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Water Plant in Zubin Potok is an important asset for the secure water supply of thousands of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo in the northern municipalities, and the taking over the controll of this asset is a matter of security, public health, and the extension of institutional control.

Meanwhile, with the closure of the parallel Water-supply Company “Ibar” and the Water Plant in Zubin Potok, in accordance with the agreement signed in January of this year between RWC “Mitrovica”, the Municipality of North Mitrovica and the Municipality of Zubin Potok, regular and higher-quality services for the citizens of this municipality will be provided by RWC “Mitrovica”, at higher standards and in full compliance with our laws.

These operations were carried out in cooperation with the Kosovo Police.
