Prishtina, 13.08.2025 – Caretaker Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, and the Mayor of Gjilan Municipality, Alban Hyseni, have signed a co-funding agreement worth €500,000 for the implementation of the “Smart City” project. This strategic partnership will enable the digital transformation of the city of Gjilan, through targeted investments in modern infrastructure.

The project includes the installation of networked sensors to monitor public lighting, traffic, and environmental conditions, as well as the development of an integrated data platform that allows real-time data analysis. These technologies will enable the municipality to manage resources more efficiently and respond more quickly in public service delivery.

The implementation of “Smart City” in Gjilan marks a major step toward smart urban development and will serve as a model for other municipalities in Kosovo, demonstrating the key role of the Ministry of Economy in supporting local digital modernization.
