€5.5 million investment for 785 families in the implementation of energy efficiency measures for social multi-apartment buildings

Prishtina, 01.11.2024 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, participated in the signing ceremony of the project “Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures for Social Multi-Apartment Buildings”, an investment of €5.5 million in energy efficiency, from which 785 families, or approximately 3,400 citizens, will benefit.

The Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF) held today the signing ceremony of agreements with beneficiary municipalities for the project “Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures for Social Multi-Apartment Buildings”. This project is financed by the European Union, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the respective municipalities. The investment grant from KEEF covers 90% of the investment, while the financial participation of the municipalities is 10% of the total investment value.

The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, announced that the beneficiary municipalities are Pristina, Skenderaj, Klina, Drenas, Gjilan, Vitia, Kamenica, Obiliq, Istog, and Malisheva.

She also stated that 785 vulnerable households, or approximately 3,400 citizens, will have better living conditions as the 22 social multi-apartment buildings where they live, through an investment of €5.5 million, will have:

– Roof insulation,

– Walls insulation,

– New doors and windows,

– Heating system for each household,

– Renovation of entrances,

– Intercom system,

– Fire protection measures and smoke detectors.

“Of all the projects and investments that have been made during this term, and the ones we are initiating to be carried out over the years in the energy sector, for me, this is the most special because it directly affects the vulnerable strata of society, who have never before been treated with proper care”, emphasized Minister Rizvanolli and thanked the European Union for the financial support for this project and the municipalities for co-financing the project.
