Caretaker Minister Rizvanolli visited the “Isa Boletini” and “Hamit Sejdiu” schools, where investments in energy efficiency are under way
Podujeva, 09.06.2025 – The Caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, together with the Deputy Mayor of Podujeva, Marigona Lahu, and the Director of the Municipal Education Directorate, Avni Fetahu, visited the “Isa Boletini” School in Pakashtica and the “Hamit Sejdiu” School in Podujeva, where investments in energy efficiency are being carried out.
Work in the buildings of these schools includes insulating the roofs and external walls, replacing doors and windows, installing efficient heating systems, and fitting efficient LED lighting.
The project is being implemented by the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund and is financed by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo through the revolving scheme for municipalities.
On this occasion, Minister Rizvanolli emphasised that investments in energy efficiency translate into better conditions for pupils and teachers, in warmer, better lit and safer classrooms.
“Thus, in the Municipality of Podujeva, we are giving priority to better conditions for pupils and teachers through an in-depth reform of school infrastructure and energy efficiency. In total, eight public schools have been renovated or are being renovated, with a total investment of over 1.48 million euro, benefiting 2,275 pupils and teachers,” Rizvanolli said, adding that with an investment of 745 thousand euro, four schools are currently being renovated, and they will be completed in September 2025 and, once finished, are expected to achieve energy savings of more than 70%, which will directly affect the municipal budget and the quality of life at school.
An amount of 361,420 euro is being invested in the Primary and Lower Secondary School “Isa Boletini”, benefiting 1,413 persons, while 115,497 euro is being invested in the Primary and Lower Secondary School “Hamit Sejdiu”, benefiting 90 persons. Investments are also being carried out in the “Ali Ajeti” School in Lladovc and the “Shefki Kuleta” School in Tërnava.
Energy-efficiency investments have been completed in four schools: “Shaban Shala” and “Enver Maloku” schools in Podujeva, “Shefki Kuleta” School in Bellopoja and the “Luigj Gurakuqi” School in Gërdoc.
