272 young persons certified in digital skills

Prishtina, 5 July 2023 – Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, participated today in the certification ceremony of 272 young persons in the 6th round of ICT training under the ICT for Kosovo’s Growth.

These young persons were certified in Java Programming, Cyber Security, Web Development, Python, Big Data, and Machine Learning.

In total, 1868 young persons have been trained while 1513 have been certified, of which 38.3% are girls. These young individuals will contribute to the development of our ICT sector and economy.

Training of Young Persons in Digitals Skills Project was conceived by the Ministry of Economy and financed by the European Union under the IPA 2017 Program.

The certification project for young persons aims to meet the market demands for digital and business skills, enhance the competitiveness of both digital and traditional Kosovar businesses, and increase the export of Kosovar businesses through the use of ICT.

Kosovo has more than 1500 ICT companies, and over half of them export their services, primarily to the United States and the European Union. These exports have increased by 113% in 2022 compared to 2021.

In addition to Minister Rizvanolli, the ceremony was attended by Johannes Stenbaek from the EU Office in Kosovo, Zana Tabaku from STIKK, and representatives of the ICT sector.
