Holding of the third meeting of the Steering Committee of the project “Energy Transition and Climate Mitigation in Kosovo”

Prishtina, 12.03.2026 – The Ministry of Economy (MoE) held the third meeting of the Steering Committee of the project “Energy Transition and Climate Mitigation in Kosovo”, funded by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by the Ministry of Economy and LuxDev – Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation.

The meeting opened with an opening remark by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, who emphasized the importance of international cooperation and continued support in advancing the energy transition and climate change mitigation efforts in Kosovo. She added that this project is strengthening the institutional capacities and is advancing the policies that support the development of a more sustainable and cleaner energy system.

Following this, in his speech, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Luxembourg Embassy in Pristina, His Excellency Eric Dietz, reconfirmed Luxembourg’s commitment to supporting Kosovo on the path towards sustainable development and toward strengthening institutional capacities in the energy and climate sector.

During the meeting, the agenda was approved, while the Project Manager presented the progress achieved during 2025 within the project. There was also presented the Annual Operational Plan 2026 and the financial programming for 2026 as well.

After presentations, the participants discussed on the activities carried out and the priorities for the upcoming period, validating the main directions of the project implementation for 2026.

The meeting concluded with some final recommendations from the participants, while it was agreed that the date of the next Steering Committee meeting be determined in coordination between the parties.

This project represents an important contribution to Kosovo’s efforts to accelerate the transition towards clean energy and to strengthen the policies pertaining the mitigation of climate change.

Besides the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Luxembourg Embassy, ​​Eric Dietz, this meeting was attended also by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, Leonita Shabani-Mullarama, the resident representative of LuxDev in Kosovo, Giovanni Tordini, Jessica Spaus from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Virginie Le Couster and James Stewart from LuxDev, Avni Zogiani and Servet Spahiu from the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Jetlirë Krasniqi from the Embassy of Luxembourg in Kosovo, Arian Lila from the Ministry of Economy, Arta Hoxha and Brikena Muçolli from LuxDev, Gent Berisha from KIESA and Petrit Ahmeti from the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund.
