Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Rizvanolli inaugurate energy efficiency investments in two schools in Podujeva
Podujeva, 04.4.2025 – Caretaker Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, Cartaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, the Mayor of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, and Acting Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF), Ardiana Bokshi, attended the inauguration ceremony for energy efficiency investments at the “Isa Boletini” Economic Secondary School and the “Shefki Kuleta” school in the village of Tërnava, Podujeva.
The investment covers a total of 8 schools in the Municipality of Podujeva, where the Government of the Republic of Kosovo invested €750,000, and with the support of the European Union, the total value reaches €1.5 million.
These investments include the replacement of doors and windows, insulation of roofs and walls, and optimization of the heating system with a capacity of 300 kW.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that owing to these investments, the “Isa Boletini” Economic Secondary School has received €350,000 for energy efficiency upgrades, benefiting over 1,000 students and around 100 teachers.
Similarly, 135 students at the “Shefki Kuleta” school in Tërnava, Podujeva, will enjoy the same energy efficiency upgrades. The Prime Minister noted that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo supports the renovation of public buildings in villages across the country to ensure modern conditions in schools throughout Kosovo.
Minister Rizvanolli added that investments in such projects would continue in the future, highlighting the importance of energy efficiency.
“It is a pleasure to see the results of our work, as since the beginning of this mandate we have emphasized that energy savings and efficiency are the main pillars of our Energy Strategy. This allows us not only to reduce bills but also to improve conditions for students and teachers, as well as for thousands of patients and citizens across the country”, she said.
Acting Director of the KEEF, Ardiana Bokshi, stated that the project was implemented to improve teaching and learning conditions and to increase energy savings.
The Mayor of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, noted that these investments have directly contributed to improving school infrastructure, mentioning other investments made in schools across the municipality in recent years.
Muhamet Sejdiu, Director of the “Isa Boletini” Economic Secondary School, added that these investments were necessary and have delivered tangible results in improving the school infrastructure.
