RWC “Mitrovica” signs an agreement for service, collection, and billing with the 3 northern municipalities
Prishtina, 17.01.2025 – An agreement has been signed between the Regional Water Company “Mitrovica” and the Mayors of three northern municipalities, under which the water bills of the inhabitants of the municipalities of North Mitrovica, Zveçan, and Zubin Potok will be collected and billed by RWC “Mitrovica”. The signing of the agreement with the Municipality of Leposaviq is also anticipated.
Present at the ceremony were the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, Deputy Minister, Getoar Mjeku, Chief Executive Officer of RWC “Mitrovica,” Bashkim Kurti, and the Mayors of the three municipalities.
Minister Rizvanolli stated that this agreement is an important step toward improving water supply for the citizens of these municipalities.
“Until today, RWC ‘Mitrovica’ was limited only in three municipalities: Skenderaj, Vushtrri, and South Mitrovica, even though we all know this does not represent the complete Mitrovica region and does not reflect the territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo. As of today, RWC ‘Mitrovica’ is fully living up to its name by concluding a service agreement with the three northern municipalities, and soon, I believe, all four. Today, that includes North Mitrovica, Zveçan, and Zubin Potok, and shortly Leposaviq,” said Minister Rizvanolli.
Meanwhile, the CEO of RWC “Mitrovica,” Bashkim Kurti, mentioned that the four northern municipalities will now be served by RWC “Mitrovica.”
“As of today, we will be serving the four northern municipalities. We will be conducting consumer registration, installing water meters, as well as billing and collection. For this transitional period, we have set a deadline, date December 31, 2025. We also need to find a solution regarding the parallel body,” he said.
