Tepelena, 30 June 2023 – Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, and Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, have participated in the informal meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community, held in Tepelena, Albania.

During the meeting with contracting parties, the ministers discussed the implementation of the carbon emission system, as well as the status of energy and climate legislation, while the main discussion focused on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the carbon pricing system, for which they expressed the need for detailed information and projections before taking a position as a state.

Furthermore, during the meeting, Minister Rizvanolli presented the work done so far regarding the energy package, informing the participants that significant progress has been made and that the laws are expected to be approved by the end of the year, for which she also expressed gratitude to the Secretariat of the Energy Community for the continuous support provided thus far.
