Gjilan, 21.10.2022 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, spoke and met with representatives of businesses at the cross-sectoral B2B business event, organized under the EU Support for the Competitiveness of Kosovo’s ICT Sector Project, held in Gjilan. The ICT for Kosovo’s Growth Project is financed by the EU in Kosovo and implemented by the Ministry of Economy and the Municipality of Gjilan.

Minister Rizvanolli said that it is a pleasure to meet and see closely the development of businesses, and be better informed about their services, whether traditional or innovative such as the ICT field. The meeting was attended by 82 traditional businesses and 9 ICT businesses.

During the meeting, the Minister was informed by the attendees about the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation and the use of digital platforms by traditional companies, and added that digitalization of traditional sectors is one of the areas where productivity growth is most expected, with a lot of room for development.

Minister Rizvanolli presented before the participants the investments of the Ministry of Economy in the ICT field and the plans to support the city under the Smart City Project, which will start to be implemented in 2022 and will last 3 years, with a budget of 550 thousand euros.
