Prishtina, 23.09.2022 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, has participated in the First International Conference “Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change”. This conference was held in Prishtina, organized by the Center for Energy and Sustainability.

The Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, as well as the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Naser Sahiri, also participated in the conference “Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change”.

Minister Rizvanolli said before the audience that Kosovo has made progressive steps in the energy sector, with special emphasis on renewable sources, which is also proven by the Energy Strategy 2022 – 2030, which awaits approval this year, wherein the developmental orientations of the energy sector for a 10-year period are set, therefore a future of clean energy with high integration of renewable energy sources, investments in energy efficiency and modernization of the network requires the engagement and involvement of everyone, to ensure that our society is ready to follow the dynamics of new technologies.

Furthermore, Rizvanolli added that we are in a time when the entire energy sector in Europe is reforming, and for us – policymakers this energy crisis undoubtedly makes decision-making more difficult, as the decisions that need to be made now must guarantee security of supply, but at the same time ensure that the short-term solutions do not jeopardize our commitment towards decarbonization.
