Decisions of the first meeting of the Emergency Technical Committee

Prishtina, 17.08.2022 – Based on the energy situation in Kosovo, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli has taken a decision to establish the Emergency Technical Committee (ETC) comprising of representatives of all relevant energy institutions.

The aim of the Committee is to draw up recommendations to minimize the consequences of the energy crisis.

The Emergency Technical Committee has the following composition: representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (ICMM), the Kosovo Competition Authority, Kosovo Energy Corporation, Transmission, System and Market Operator (KOSTT), Kosovo Energy Distribution Company (KEDS), Universal Service Supplier (KESCO).

In its first meeting, the Emergency Technical Committee recommended that in order to cover the consumption during this period, KEK to provide Kosovo Energy Distribution Company (KEDS) with the acquired energy, under the conditions provided in the BSA.

The Technical Committee aims to identify the potential impact on the emergency situation of electricity supply, operation and liquidity of the electricity market, managing the situation, as well as recommending options to minimize the negative effects both on the supply and the market during the emergency situation.
