Prishtina, 04.08.2022 – Deputy Minister of Economy Mentor Arifaj hosted in a meeting a delegation of the Embassy of the United States of America in Kosovo, composed of Kelly Dodge, economic advisor, Dren Pozhegu, economic advisor, and Atdhetare Kelmendi, commercial advisor.

In this meeting was discussed about the sectors led by the Ministry of Economy – energy, publicly-owned enterprises, information and communication technology – with special emphasis on the mining sector.

Deputy Minister Arifaj said that the mining sector policies are led by the ME, and that currently work is being done on modernization of this sector, while in this context the Deputy Minister mentioned “Trepça” as an enterprise which needs modernization and reorganization, so that it would have an impact on increasing productivity and, at the same time, increasing employment of young persons.

He also stressed that the Government of Kosovo welcomes any cooperation with experts from different countries, who would assist in developing the mining sector with their experience.
